Crimes in the area

Ive came across this article this morning. “A motorcyclist died and his wife was seriously injured when attacked by snatch thieves in Cheras yesterday”. (source: http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/articles/15sle/Article/index_html).  Upon reading this article, i do think that malaysia is not safe anymore. That is my first impression. Back to 10 years ago, we rarely heard about this so called snatch thieves. People can walk at ease; without any doubt in their heart. But what happen today is unimaginable. Pedestrian; especially women are being treated as the main target (by the criminal). What can we do in order to overcome this issue?
